V letech 2003–2007 studoval na Vyšší odborné škole Václava Hollara. Magisterský titul získal na Akademii výtvarných umění v Praze (2007–2013, Ateliér sochařství I / Škola Lukáše Rittsteina). V roce 2011 studijně pobýval na Islandu. Základním tématem jeho práce je hledání identity ve světě narůstajících entropických jevů. Mísí se zde pokusy aktualizovat archetypy s odkazy k mytickým či romantizujícím tendencím. Niternou polohu tvorby autor vyvažuje projekty přesahujícími do designu, architektury a sochařství ve veřejném prostoru. Jako vášnivý technologický průzkumník rád ve své práci aplikuje nekonvenční postupy i materiály.

After attending the Václav Hollar School of Art (2003–2007), Skála went on to earn a master’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (2007–2013, sculpture, prof. Jaroslav Róna). He spent 2011 on a study exchange in Iceland. The main theme of his work is the search for identity in a world of growing entropy. He mixes attempts at updating archetypes with references to mythical or romantic tendencies. This profound aspect of his work is balanced out by projects in the fields of design, architecture, and public sculpture. As a passionate explorer of technology, he likes to work with unconventional methods and materials.
