Jáchym Šimek (*2000) je sochař, který neustále testuje médium sochy. To se projevuje především v jeho dekonstruktivním přístupu, skrze který ověřuje limity mezi malířskou a sochařskou polohou na teritoriu trojrozměrného objektu. Jeho reliéfy a busty lze vnímat coby záznamy složitějších narativů, pro něž je typické symbolické uvažování o tématech na pomezí posthumanismu a přírodních (fyzikálních) věd. Aktuálně je možné jeho práci vidět i na Zlínském salonu mladých v Krajské galerii výtvarného umění ve Zlíně. Šimek je od roku 2020 studentem Ateliéru figurálního sochařství na Akademii výtvarných umění v Praze, kde prošel v akademickém roce 2023/2024 stáží ve studiu malby Josefa Bolfa a Jakuba Hoška.

Jáchym Šimek (*2000) is a sculptor who is constantly testing the medium of sculpture. This manifests itself primarily in his deconstructive approach, through which he examines the limits between painting and sculpture in the territory of the three-dimensional object. His reliefs and busts can be perceived as records of more complex narratives, characterized by a symbolic consideration of themes at the border between posthumanism and the natural (physical) sciences. Currently, his work can be seen at the Zlín Youth Salon at the Regional Gallery of Fine Arts in Zlín. Šimek has been a student of the Studio of Figurative Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague since 2020, where he underwent an internship in the academic year 2023/2024 in the painting studio of Josef Bolf and Jakub Hošek.
