Určitý princip ne-přítomnosti člověka je zásadní v díle Terezy Mátlové, jež aktuálně studuje Ateliér Malby I (vedoucí Daniel Balabán) na Fakultě umění OU v Ostravě. Pracuje nebývalým způsobem s barvou. Barva je určující. A někde okolo či ve středu malby se nachází figura(y). Nenásilně vypluje z barevného spektra vrstvených plánů a vyztuží kompozici tak, že se propojí výchozí záměr s výslednou realitou. Splývavá, odhmotněná, překrývající se barevná pole pláten Mátlové vybízejí zrak, aby vstupoval do jejich spodních vrstev a vyhledával obrysy přemalovaných, prosvítajících tvarů na pokraji čitelnosti. Barva popírá touhu po tvaru a zároveň je tím, co umožňuje jeho vyřčení.

A certain principle of human absence is essential in the work of Tereza Mátlová, who is currently studying Painting Studio I (led by Daniel Balabán) at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music OU in Ostrava. She works with color in an unprecedented way. The color is decisive. And somewhere around or in the center of the painting there are figure(s). It emerges non-violently from the color spectrum of the layered plans and strengthens the composition by connecting the initial intention with the resulting reality. The confluent, dematerialized, overlapping color fields of Matlová's canvases invite the eye to enter their lower layers and search for the contours of overpainted, translucent shapes on the edge of legibility. Color denies the desire for form and is at the same time what enables its expression.
