V letech 2004–2007 studoval Vysokou školu uměleckoprůmyslovou (Ateliér skla u Vladimíra Kopeckého) a v letech 2007–2010 Akademii výtvarných umění v Praze (Ateliér malířství IV / Škola Zdeňka Berana). Zdeněk Trs ve své tvorbě vychází z výrazových možností klasických malířských technik, jeho dokonalá malba je zaměřena na geometrii a stereometrii těles. Srpek měsíce, který se objevuje v jeho nové sérii, významově vychází z barokní ikonografie – byl používán pro znázornění neposkvrněnosti Panny Marie. Sluneční kotouč byl zase v egyptské mytologii symbolem vědění a znázorněním Hora, egyptského boha nebes, slunce a světla. S použitím těchto symbolů Trs rozehrává sofistikovanou, minimalisticky dokonalou hru, která promlouvá univerzálním jazykem. Ať už je jeho tvarosloví demonstrací fyzikálních zákonů, nebo vyjádřením ikonografických symbolů, vždy na plátně hledá řád pro pohyb těles na daném formátu, z čehož se finálně rodí iluzivně trojrozměrný, plastický obraz. Trs samostatně vystavuje od roku 2006, v roce 2015 byl oceněn CBM Art Prize – zvítězil v kategorii nad 30 let. Jeho dílo je zastoupeno ve sbírce Národní galerie města Prahy a v soukromých sbírkách v ČR i v zahraničí. Trafo Gallery vydala v r. 2019 jeho knihu Popelavý svit. www.zdenektrs.com

Zdeněk Trs attended Prague’s Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in 2004–2007 (glass, prof. Vladimír Kopecký) and the Academy of Fine Arts in 2007–2010 (classical painting techniques, prof. Zdeněk Beran). In his work, he draws on the expressive possibilities of classical painting techniques, producing perfectly executed paintings with a focus on geometric shapes and stereometric bodies. The crescent moon that appears in a recent series is based on Baroque iconography, where it was used as a symbol for the immaculate Virgin Mary. In Egyptian mythology, the solar disk was a symbol of knowledge associated with depictions of Horus, the Egyptian god of the sky, sun, and light. Working with these symbols, Trs engages in a sophisticated and minimalistically perfect game that speaks in a universal language. No matter whether his formal vocabulary demonstrates physical laws or depicts iconographic symbols, Trs always seeks to give order to the motion of bodies on the canvas, thus giving rise to the illusion of a sculptural, three-dimensional image. Trs has been exhibiting solo since 2006. In 2015, he was awarded the CBM Art Prize in the over-30 category. His works can be found in the collection of the National Gallery in Prague and in private collections in the Czech Republic and abroad.
