Martin Malý vystudoval pražskou AVU a studium ukončil v roce 2019. Studoval v ateliérech sochařství I a II, kde v ateliéru I působil pod vedením profesora Mgr. Lukáše Rittsteina a v ateliéru II pod Mgr. Jindřichem Zeithammlem a Mgr. Tomáše Hlavinou. V roce 2018 absolvoval stáž na Korea National University of Arts, Seoul, Jižní Korea.Martinova práce nabízí pohled na estetickou čistotu. Nejraději pracuje s probarvovaným betonem v kombinaci s kovem například plátkovým zlatem. Nejčastějším tématem je figura, figury v souboji, zápas sumo, řecko-římský zápas. Jeho dalším často zpracovávaným tématem jsou hrací automaty, kapesní herní konzole a výherní automaty, které si strhávají pozornost diváka stejně jako jejich reálné předlohy.

Martin's work offers a view of aesthetic purity. He prefers to work with colored concrete in combination with metal such as gold leaf.
